To The Land Down Under

It's funny how time passes so very quickly. It was the start of 2007, in the month of January when I initially met him. Funny, because he was the first person I came to knew in class. Fresh faces were moving in and out of class, and he was no exception. We sat next to each other, became acquaintances if not truly friends, and continued to do so on a daily basis.

I remember, he would always ask me to translate everything in simpler terms during biology ... and without fail, I would incessantly wonder, "for real? almost every sentence?".

I would say that we only became chummy during the first year of our university lives ... though we were in different varsities. The non-stop insults, laughs, night outings, pool sessions, shoulder-crying periods, and spontaneous boozing was just part of what we called an enjoyable bestpal time.

For he who claims himself to be Alonso, good luck over in Australia! Thank you for the crazy rides, thanks for being a good friend, and most importantly thanks for being the kerbau who comforted me whenever I was sad or made me laugh with all those 2 cents Chuck Norris jokes ...

I'll race ya in a drift contest when you're back ... I'm sorry I can't be there at the farewell. But I'll visit, I promise :)

Cheese Marathon, Part 2

Shepherd's pie, and mac & cheese! Incredibly filling after those 2 burgers, but I love the days where I can have double lunch sessions :)

Feathered Skies

What I miss about ttdi, is the constant bird drop-dodging whenever we park below the shady trees in the second town area. The pest control men constantly came with their rifles to rid the place of hundreds of crows. Its funny how we've gotten used to the sound of gunshots from afar back when we were living there; my home for 16 years ...

The Streaks of Light Across Singapore

Someone brought us to this very spot for a romantic night view of the bustling city. There's even a quaint lil jap restaurant hidden up on the roof top. Personally, I loved the zen vibe that's coupled with the backdrop of s'pore. It's oh so relaxing :)

Atleast there's pavlova and macaroons to make me happy whenever I'm feeling a tad down.

Havana Bar & Grill @ Changkat Rd., KL

I had the potato skins for starters, grilled lamb for my main, and an apple pie ala mode for dessert. Everything's just delightful, though I have to say, I should have opted for some texas ribs instead. They're pretty soft and succulent; go for med-rare!

The Joy of Overflowing Thoughts : Insomnia. Poopy.

I don't know why but it has been 2 weeks since I truly felt sunshine and its warmth penetrating through my chest. I really don't know why, but I do try. I try very hard. to understand. to unmask this heavy feeling. Sadly, everything in the presence of my senses will just serve as a reminder of whatever thorn that's lodged in the subcavity of my brain. And seemingly that thorn has acted as a root and rose bushes with more thorns have begun to sprout and make its way to the emotional room in this house of a body. The amounted pricks from the deadly ends of those sharp wooden needles have done no good but left me with scars. I just want roses ... not the thorns that settle on the stalks, and certainly not the ones with tattered tips which symbolize the truth that all entities should come to an end. What I need is just petals in this beating chamber of mine, the one I call my heart. I can't put my finger on it. What's missing ??

Nasi Goreng Soft Shell Crab @ Murni

The portion is served the way I like it : large. Costs about 15 bucks a plate, and 10 bucks for the crab alone. Kinda tasty, just that they won't have it on the menu 80% of the time.

Something To Ponder On (Face Structures, Part 1)

A friend told me that my face wasn't totally round in shape, but rather round from the top to the lower part of my cheeks, and slightly sharp at the base of the chin area. Many people have told me the same thing, and described it as a heart-shaped face.

I wonder why I refuse to take on this new perspective, and instead stubbornly hold on to idea that I should chisel off whatever remnants there are protruding from the more sophisticated cum oblong sunken face I've always aimed for with all that relentless gum-chewing.

But I never did think of it this way, that these good supple bits are going to do my face a favour when I age. Yup, the wonders of collagen.

Does this mean that I would look younger than I actually am in 30 years time?

HATCHACHA HUBBA HUBBA ... fill up on em collagen girls!

Tip: But while you're at it, here are a few hints from a site to help you keep those angles in your face ... To do this, create less volume around the face. Go for soft, graduated layers that fall just right above your chin. Consider wispy and tapered ends. Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or side-swept. Make sure to avoid one-length, blunt cuts if you have short hair. Curly, short hair is also a no-no.

So to speak, make way for a new do and flaunt those pretty faces that y'all have :D

Nudes To Die For

I absolutely adore these babies here cause they have a hint of gold
around the soft colouring of the base.

Dickson's Coffee House

Its good for a quick fix since it's hard to locate any bakeries around pd ... The cheese brownie is a chef's recommendation, but everything here is definitely overpriced cause the quality of the food just doesn't seem to match. However the view's kinda serene and calming! :)

Yik Kee Pastries @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting

They've got durian bombs, kaya rolls, durian tarts, durian ice cream and a lot more pastries made from the exotic fruit that truly defined malaysia since the pre-independence era :) The durian bomb's my favourite. I made way in my ever-sweet-yearning stomach for 5 of those even after a filling lunch because that's just how tasty it is!
I remember seeing a branch at TTDI where I use to live, but they don't sell pastries there; only lunch and dinner dishes.

Yami Yogurt @ ION, Orchard Rd.

I like the peach base, with cashew nuts + raisins as toppings ... Its a combination of crunchiness and sweet-soury goodness ! A regular cup costs about $2.30 while the medium sells for $3.40.

Shimino Japanese Crepes

Any place that's laden with colourful crepes is bound to catch your attention! The ones at this stall are overflowing with fresh cream and goes for RM 8.90 a roll. Extra ice cream calls for a dollar in top up, but its pretty worth it. Sissy had the lychee, while I opted for the strawberry which was a best seller. Deliciously good :) You can grab a bite of your very own at ou or pav.
