Our Very Own Milers Club
Yesterday I decided to push my limits when I went for a hike at Broga with my friends. It's been a while since I've hiked, and the last hill I probably wandered through was the one at Dusun Eco, which was a three times less challenging. Standing at 400m high, this 1.6km vertical hike definitely gave me a kick with all that climbing, slithering, swinging, and rolling (downhill) through nooks and crannies. Before the hike, we slept at about 3am and awoke an hour later to our dismay for oversleeping. We got to the foot of the hill by 5am, and started out tedious climb for about less than an hour before we reached first base. The stars were gleaming and the subtle wind was refreshing. The first base was a much needed rest for everyone cause our hearts were pumping twice as hard to get the adrenalin going. The night sky was truly so beautiful and at that moment I wished my loved ones were there to share the wonder with me, and as I looked around I realized that they were :) Kinda reminded me of the time at redang where 2 of my best friends just laid with me till 5 am to take in the view of the star-embezzled sky from the comfortable and warm sandy grounds of the beach. How I miss em' waves.
After a while we took off for the second, third, and finally fourth peak. There were other students there as well, and I couldn't help but beam with pride at our very own Malaysian hospitality when some of them instantaneously offered me a hand/ hoisted me up at some rocky areas. The willpower which didn't allow us to cave in or give up, finally paid off at the peak albeit the need to scream out for deep heat spray cause our muscles were beyond sore and sourish. The view was breathtaking, and the nutty jokes we cracked all the way up made everything worth while :)
I thought we had conquered Broga the moment we arrived at the peak, but we all dreaded the downhill journey as well. It was taxing, and more straining than venturing uphill. We had to rush against time as the cloudy skies begin to indicate rain. Sliding down was fun but our hands got sore from stabilizing ourselves on the boulders by the side. The feeling was all too familiar, it definitely brought me back to the time I was at YDC 17's dhamma camp. When we finally reached the bottom we all heaved a sigh of relief and headed straight for dimsum cause we've worked up an insatiable appetite : all of this by 9am. Celebrated a friend's birthday at the dimmy restaurant despite all the weird stares (cake in the morning too? hehe). When I got home, I took a shower and dragged my light-cum-heavy body (pardon the oxymoron) to bed. In less than two hours I headed out again for lunch with my sweeties, and dinner at that too. Finally got to dine at Alexis again since my birthday, and blundering succotash they could tell that I was hungrily craving some al frutti de mare, potato leek, and pavlova since I'm all juiced out. It was the best omnomnom treat of the week so thank you girls *big wet sloppy kiss* but most importantly I felt touched at the message I learned from the day with my pm4-ians : no journey is ever easy, but it's more than worth while when you finally get to the top and see the bigger picture (or view in this matter) of life.

"Psych? Can You Read My Mind?"
As much as I'd like to bask in the liberation, I have to admit that I do miss the times where we crammed our heads to ace those papers, and the moments where we jabbed one another in class cause it's the Batch 9 way of cracking a smile :)
We've made it peeps !
---
And by the way, the answer is "nope"
We can't read minds but we deduce pretty well ;)

Psych's Dearest Batch 9 from Aug 08
1 more day till class ends for good ...
2 weeks to my finals ...
1 month till my internship ...
4 more months to go before I graduate ...
7 months till my convo ...
6 months left to decide if I should continue my Masters immediately or work for a little experience first ... and if either so, do I move or stay here in Msia? ...
Will I be seeing my chums far much less, or even ever for that matter? ...
Hmmm ...

To The Land Down Under
It's funny how time passes so very quickly. It was the start of 2007, in the month of January when I initially met him. Funny, because he was the first person I came to knew in class. Fresh faces were moving in and out of class, and he was no exception. We sat next to each other, became acquaintances if not truly friends, and continued to do so on a daily basis.
I remember, he would always ask me to translate everything in simpler terms during biology ... and without fail, I would incessantly wonder, "for real? almost every sentence?".
I would say that we only became chummy during the first year of our university lives ... though we were in different varsities. The non-stop insults, laughs, night outings, pool sessions, shoulder-crying periods, and spontaneous boozing was just part of what we called an enjoyable bestpal time.
For he who claims himself to be Alonso, good luck over in Australia! Thank you for the crazy rides, thanks for being a good friend, and most importantly thanks for being the kerbau who comforted me whenever I was sad or made me laugh with all those 2 cents Chuck Norris jokes ...
I'll race ya in a drift contest when you're back ... I'm sorry I can't be there at the farewell. But I'll visit, I promise :)

Carousel
One of my girls shared a link of this pretty snowglobe with me, and I instantly thought of the one I saw at Lovely Lace that day *dreamy sigh* ...
The image of the carousel kinda brought me back to my childhood ... and I love reminiscing about the fun I had at theme parks. Ahh, sweet sweet ol' nostalgia :)

Everyone's A Sherlock
There's always a point in our lives where we begin a "hurmm" that sparks a whole series of active wondering. What am I saying ? Well, ever reached a certain age where you start to ponder about your past ? Not just your recent past, but the episode that took place so long ago that even travelling back in thought makes it seem like an exhausting journey through the time vortex without the help of a wormhole ... no pun intended. I was reminiscing my 7 year old life when I grew increasingly curious about my toddler years, and also about the ones that took place before I even first breathed air ( you know, just to complete the whole set of memories yada yada). Here's what I managed to enlighten myself with when I bombarded my source with so many questions that it became excruciatingly painful and tedious to answer.
*I was also 2 months away from receiving my automatic citizenship there.
*My name was strictly meant to bear its english meaning, but took a turn with a missing letter 'r'. Its still pronounced like its meant to be though.
*My english name has nothing to do with my chinese one. They are in no way interconnected, and neither do they carry the same meaning.
*Did I mention that the latter is a guy's name ?
*My dad would let me off the hook easily when I was a kid cause I was deemed witty.
*I reasoned with the beauty pageant MC on stage, in front of a crowd, about how it would be a better idea for him to hold the microphone for me so that I could have my hands free. I told him that I would be able to do a better rendition of the poem I prepared, and it would increase my chances of being the talent of the night. I was only 6. And the amused MC obliged to the "little chilli" :D
*I'm a banana, yellow on the outside, white on the inside. Been laughed at for my obscene canto-dialect pronunciations. Been laughed at since I was 7. I had a full english upbringing, but I'm working on my mother tongue, and have been improving *kembang*
*I've always told my parents how much I wanted to be a boy and loathed being a girl.
*Was a candy addict since I was a child. Lollipops, gum drops, popsicles, cotton candy, cupcakes, licorice ... though I only appreciated tantalizing chocs and cakes when I was in high school.
*Couldn't stop since then ... ooohhh *shivers in delight*
*My love for rhymes probably paved the way for my participation in state level choir competitions throughout my primary and secondary life.
*Because of that I also went into orchestra, and spent most of my extra-curricular time either singing or rehearsing the formation for the school band, besides memorizing all the music scores and pieces .
I wonder what I would discover the next time round ? hurmmm ...

I miss you already ... pig :(
Thanks for all the nights you've spent driving me around whenever I was sad.
Thanks for the times that you have rushed over with just one call.
Thanks for taking care of me whenever I was always a dead fish.
Thanks for being the clown in my life.
And thank you, for being one of the best friends someone could ever have.
All the best, muaxy muax !
