Yesterday I had a night out with a couple of friends at Mist, and I found the place pretty swell. It ain't no zouk, but it was surely spacious and the DJ spun good music throughout the night. I know I know, seems kinda slow of me to be checking out Mist now but hey, I'm just used to the clubs in KL. This should be the place to be if you're not feeling all hyped up for some bombastic partying at your usual hotspots. Next stop, G6 ... hehe ;)

SAY WHATWHAT ??

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie @ KL

Two weeks ago Bay said he wanted to bring me somewhere with good soup and a beautiful ambience. Today he surprised me with Levain, a beautiful garden-like bakery that had a stone oven to match. The place was wonderful, and I enjoyed the entire afternoon just basking in the environment. We had 2 sessions; one full dining experience at the al fresco area, and then a high tea lounging period on the inside (with air-conditioning this time). So what's good here ?

The creamy mushroom soup (RM5.90)

The place is just really romantic, and the food's pretty good and reasonably priced. Be sure to check out this warm & hearty cafe. Totally worth the trip :) Do avoid lunch hours though, it'll turn out to be real packed. It's best to visit around 2pm onwards. We arrived around that time, and it was still a lil crowded then but not as hectic. Though it was impossible to try every single pastry, we did however push our limits and sampled all the delicious-looking ones. I've taken a fancy to this place! And there will definitely be more future visits.

Bread Basket @ Kota Kemuning

This lil cafe is always packed during lunch hours! The place doubles as a bakery as well, serving up fresh homemade bread for you to have on the spot of bring home. I had the salmon salad and mushroom soup while my lunchmates savoured on heavier items like the asam laksa and daily special (chicken leg spag). I bought some bread back too, and the garlic-sausage bun was tasty enough to put a satisfied smile on my face :) Not a bad place for a quick bite, though the salad was a definite no-no. But the soup and bread's good though!

Scented Truffle

I remember the first time I needed to go on a date with my (then) boyfriend. Though I had playfully asked when he wanted a movie, I was actually reluctant and not really up for it yet. I was just flirting through those texts. Who knew we would have eventually started dating after that particular movie outing. The first date led to a second, a third, a fourth ... and so on. Dragging myself to the very first meeting proved to be something life-changing cause I allowed him to enter my life after a heartbreak from a previous flame. It was a good thing because he taught me what a true boy-girl relationship was all about & he also taught me for a second how to love.

It's funny how I have to repeat the whole process again, and as quick as tomorrow. Though I've been spotting quite an uncanny appearance lately whilst I'm still nursing myself, I can't help but worry if I'd look pretty or just as cutsie for tomorrow's dinner date :) I'm hyped !

Yup, here comes my next chapter. Just hoping we'll retain the same amount of chemistry as we did last week, though I would prefer for it to be platonic at the moment. Lol, life's a fruit cake, but a sweet one !

Fika - Swedish Cafe & Bistro

This place is located at No. 257, Beach Rd/Arab St., Bugis. Remember to make a reservation for dinner of you won't be able to get a table. The pricing is extremely reasonable, and the food's pretty good too. They have a ramadhan buffet promotion going for SG25++ per pax. If you do prefer the ala carte menu, be sure to try the savoury smoked salmon-shrimp-swedish roe crepe (SG15.90), and also the grilled chicken (SG15.90). The meatballs were nothing to shout about though, they could be better. In my opinion the warm bread and butter (SG1.20) worked pretty well as an appetizer too. The slice of bread is large, thick, soft around the core, and flavourful when it's warm.

One more thing, the ambience is impeccable. You'll love this quaint 2-storey cafe ;)

Koi Bubble Tea @ Bugis Junction

I tried the normal milk tea, vanilla, and also hazelnut ... Love the hazelnut! Best bubble tea I've had so far :) Only costs about SG2.50 for a medium beverage.
